This week our CEO Carl Stephen Patrick Hunter had the great honour of attending the Fire Industry Association’s 100th Anniversary at the House of Commons. Kindly hosted by the All Party Parliamentary Group for Fire Safety & Rescue our CEO comments, “It is our great pleasure to be an active member of the FIA and I am most grateful to Mr Ian Moore, CEO of the FIA for so kindly inviting us. we look forward to supporting the FIA Export Council and Working Groups in the future. There remain “ungoverned spaces” in fire safety and we aim to play our full part as a subject matter expert in some of them. Parliament has over 800 years developed a dualist tradition in which a treaty ratified by the Government does not alter the laws of the country until it is incorporated into English law by legislation. This is a constitutional requirement. I am honoured to be here in the House of Commons today.”
