Position of Policy Chair

Carl Hunter OBE, Chairman of Coltraco Ultrasonics is honoured to be appointed at volunteer Chair of the Manufacturing Policy Unit at the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), effective 1st January 2021. The FSB is committed to supporting the growth of innovative manufacturers who export.

Invited by Martin McTague, National Vice Chair, Policy & Advisory welcomed Carl in a letter dated 18th December 2020: “May I congratulate you on joining the unit for what will be another crucial year on the public policy, economic and political fronts.”

  • The UK Transition – preparations for EU Exit
  • Kickstart Scheme – FSB is a national gateway for the UK Government’s Kickstart scheme encouraging small business to help support young people with job placements across England, Scotland and Wales
  • Fair Pay Fair Play Campaign – encouraging small business to reduce risk of late payemnts

Building on Carl's Manufacturing Expertise

Carl has been a proud UK manufacturer for other 30 years. In the last 5 years he has been actively involved in promoting the role of SMEs to the UK economy in terms of revenue generation and employment, expounding the benefits of exporting in particular.

During COVID-19 Carl highlighted the need for greater support for manufacturing and exporting companies. See an article here.
