Industry experts abounded at the show which attracted many international visitors. Aside from the inspirational speakers such as Dame Kelly Holmes, Professor Brian Cos, Coltraco Ultrasonics’ CEO spoke on three occasions. Carl’s expertise in his particular areas were recognised by the very well attended Tall Buildings Fire Safety Network Conference (image below left) on Day 2 where he spoke about the need for understanding gaseous systems and constant monitoring thereof. The FPA invited him to speak at their FPA InfoZone (image below middle) about the UK’s place in the world and leading British fire safety technology which led very aptly into Day 3. The conference rounded up at the Expertise & Guidance Theatre panel (image below right) discussing the ever present and contentious topic of BREXIT, chaired by Ian Moore Chairman of the FIA, Tracy Kirk of Hochiki representing the FIA Export Council, the representative from BSI and Carl Hunter CEO of Coltraco Ultrasonics.
Carl spoke to the Delegates highlighting the need for British and ISO Standards to be implemented at the highest standard and bringing awareness for Fire Engineers to constantly monitor Gaseous Contents and Room Integrity in tandem with each other in safety critical infrastructure where they are installed. We are grateful to the TBFSN President, Mr Russ Timpson, the FPA and the FIA for the privilege.
This year Coltraco Ultrasonics were featuring our Portascanner® 520 Room Integrity leak detector which received resounding interest as part of a shift in the industry towards examining new methods to work with Door Fan Testing. Also receiving acclaim are the UL-listed Portalevel® MAX liquid level indicator used together with Portasteele® Calculator to identify the agent fill weight of suppression cylinders – shortlisted for two Awards for Safety.
Congratulations to Clare, Head of Marketing & Communications, for a splendid presence at FIREX. Coltraco Ultrasonics’ capabilities are in designing and manufacturing inspection equipment and constant monitoring systems for gaseous systems, sprinkler systems and room integrity. Currently focussed on liquefied gases such as CO2, Fm-200®, Novec™1230, halons, FE-13, FE-25, FE-36 among others. Coltraco aims to close off some of the “ungoverned space” within fire safety with a holistic approach to ensuring contents monitoring (without the correct amount of agent the fire cannot be suppressed), together with room integrity (ensuring agent retention and the ability of the structure to withstand agent discharge pressure).
