Customer Update from Head of After Sales

Happy New Year to all!

I wish to thank all our loyal customers for their support last year and welcome new customers to Coltraco.

In 2020 we appointed two new service centres/calibration stations in Brazil and Turkey which we are extremely excited about. They have undertaken training and are very shortly to be open for your servicing requirements.

Our team are continuing to provide excellent TECHNICAL SUPPORT and TRAINING to our customers of an incredibly high standard of which we are very proud.

In 2021  we are looking to further increase our range of service centres, particularly in Canada and Europe.

I look forward to supporting you with any of your After-Sales requirements and wish you a healthy and prosperous 2021!

Kindest regards,

Lizi Popham

Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTIONS FOR PORTALEVEL®

Please have your unit and its Operating Instructions to hand.

A key reason why users experience difficulties in using instrumentation is often by attempting to use it without viewing the training videos and reading the Operating Instructions first. Please never operate a  unit without familiarising yourselves with both first.

Please kindly answer the following before you commence any training with us directly:

  1. What is the unit model?
  2. What is the serial number?
    1. Portalevel MAX: On the battery compartment lid
    2. Portalevel MINI / Portamarine: In the battery compartment
  3. What agent are you testing on?
  4. What is the size of the cylinder? – approx. diameter would be helpful
  5. What is the condition of your cylinder?
  6. What temperature are you testing at?
  7. What is the condition of your unit – specifically sensor (if rust exists please attached photos)?
  8. What was the outcome of the DIP test?
  9. Describe in more detail the issue you are facing – if possible please attach a video showing the issue you are facing
  10. Please find below a step-by-step guide that may help you if you are facing a measurement issue:

FOR PORTALEVEL® MAX:

Have the YouTube videos helped you?

  1. Pick a vertical strip on the cylinder and wipe down with a damp cloth and apply a layer of ultrasonic gel. Always be sure to stick to this vertical strip during testing
  2. Attach the Portalevel® MAX sensor firmly onto the upper portion of the cylinder below the shoulder / upper dome / upper weld seam whilst ensuring the “Top” label is oriented accordingly
  3. Start by turning unit ON and moving the sensor down in steps on 5 cm / 2 inches observing the digital readings (do not press anything at this stage)
  4. Move down in steps until you have reached halfway down the cylinder (go lower if there has not been a significant change in readings)
  5. Look for the area where you find higher readings – is it in the upper section or the lower section of the cylinder?
  6. Move the sensor to the area where you find high readings, choose an “average high” reading and press CAL
  7. The bar graph should be completely full after CAL is engaged
  8. If you engaged CAL at the lower section – move the sensor up towards low readings until the bar graph disappears
  9. If you engaged CAL at the upper section – move the sensor down towards low readings until the bar graph disappears
  10. Move the sensor one position (5 cm / 2 inches) past the point when the bar graph disappears to confirm the bar graph is still empty
  11. Move the sensor in small steps back towards where you came from to find the exact point at which the bar graph goes from full to empty which will be your liquid level

FOR PORTALEVEL® ORIGINAL/PORTAMARINE® / PORTALEVEL® MINI:

  6. Move the sensor to the area where you find high readings, choose an “average high” reading and press CAL (reading must be at least 100+ for CAL to work, if not please engage SPA at the beginning of the test so the readings are higher)
  7. All your LEDs should light up after CAL is engaged
  8. If you engaged CAL at the lower section – move the sensor up towards low readings until the LED disappears
  9. If you engaged CAL at the upper section – move the sensor down towards low readings until the LED disappears
  10. Move the sensor one position (5 cm / 2 inches) past the point when the LED disappears to confirm the LED is still not lit up
