In technologies our instruments are arranged in 3 groups: A. our compartment and watertight integrity instruments based around Portascanner™, B. our gaseous extinguishing contents instruments based around Portalevel™ , supported by Portasteele™ Calculator which converts liquid level cylinder readings of CO2, FM200™ and NOVEC™ 1230 to agent weights and C. our Portatank™ industrial portable tank level indicator for single-skinned tanks measuring 0.5m to 15m in diameter.We also manufacture a range of constant monitoring systems, currently focused on (B) above. Our company team, supported by our Regional Heads of Operation, around the world, is one of the most capable you will find and we continually-improve our processes to make us “better-faster-cheaper” for you, our customer.
Coltraco Ultrasonics developed the Safeship™ concept, by which simple-to-use and highly-accurate hand-held instruments were developed for crews to use with high periodic use in demanding ergonomic and climatic environments. The company has supported the Royal Navy, US Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, BAE Systems, Babcocks and Trescal (Rolls-Royce) and many other allied Navies for over 25 years.
We are in service in an array of complex and demanding land and marine environments from the Arctic to the Pacific and in-service with nearly 20% of the world’s Commercial ocean-going vessels, 50% of the world’s offshore energy platforms and 1 of the world’s 4 manufacturers of wind energy turbines. We offer free online training for every customer and provide technical support, spare parts and maintenance for our equipment. The company exports 89% of its output to 120 countries. In 2019 our company won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade. Members of our company include winners of Lifetime Export Achievement and Young Exporter of the Year Awards for commercial service, whilst others have won Science, Innovation & Research prizes and grant awards. Our company is committed to Maritime & Land Safety, and has won numerous industry Awards in this. Our Chairman is a member of various Government & Industry Committees and Expert Advisory Groups in public service.
We are founder members of Women in Maritime and the Armed Forces Covenant and speak regularly at public and private fora. We now manufacture a range of instrumentation and constant monitoring systems. We also pioneered the Safesite™ concept by which pressurised CO2 & Clean Agent gaseous extinguishing systems are monitored for contents alongside the monitoring of the compartment they design to discharge into, since without the “gas being held” in a space protected by an extinguishing system, it will disperse without containing the fire event.
