We are humbly delighted to share with you this exciting news from the annual Cruise Line Industry Association (CLIA) Dinner in Hamburg. On Wednesday 6th September 2017, we were honoured to be awarded the CLIA Supplier of the Year Award 2017.
Seatrade Cruise Awards: Supplier of the Year Award
The Seatrade Cruise Awards have been held annually for over a decade, with category winners selected by a panel of international independent judges. This awards event was established to promote innovation and learning in the maritime industry, a mission we strongly support.
UBM Seatrade Cruise official press release: “Held annually for 11 years, the Seatrade Cruise Awards continue to recognise and reward the very best of international cruise achievement and act as a catalyst for driving the continuous improvement of standards across the industry.”
Our nomination was based on our UL-Listed and ABS approved Portalevel® MAX Marine which we supply to Carnival Cruise Lines’ fleet. We are truly honoured to receive the Supplier of the Year award and become part of this tradition.
Mary Bond Managing Director for Publishing, Seatrade: “Once again, we have had a staggering number of entries – over 100 – from across the globe. The calibre of entries was also exceptionally high and I am grateful to the independent panel of judges who spent considerable time deciding the worthy winners.”
Clare Hunter, Head of Marketing & Communications, Coltraco Ultrasonics said: “We are honoured to receive this prestigious award and thank those who recognise the fine work we are doing, working closely with our customers to deliver the Safeship® in two key areas of fire safety and watertight integrity.”
Portalevel® MAX Marine
As part of Safeship™ at sea, our technology offers reliable, non-invasive solutions for the marine industry’s unique challenges, ensuring that critical fire suppression systems, including those using CO₂, NOVEC™ 1230, FM-200™, and non-flammable liquids, remain fully operational.
The Portalevel® MAX Marine, is a handheld ultrasonic liquid level indicator with ABS Type Approval for marine applications in level monitoring. The instrumentation was designed so that either a third party service company or a vessels’ crew could inspect a large fire suppression system of up to 600 cylinders containing CO2, FM-200® or Novec™1230 with an accuracy of ±1.5 mm. The ease of use, compared to manually weighing the cylinders, enables the crew or surveyor to conduct more regular monitoring of fires systems.
The Portalevel® MAX Marine enables its users to go above and beyond minimal regulations compliance e.g. IMO SOLAS FSS Code. Embracing this innovative technology enables users to improve fire safety management and helps ensure the safety of their vessel and crew.
Carl Hunter, CEO, Coltraco Ultrasonics: “The design stemmed from the Royal Navy and the US Navy to monitor their pressurised Halon systems in case of accidental discharge or leakage from the pressurised cylinders some years ago. We are currently developing new products and systems in watertight integrity and pressurisation monitoring.”
