Coltraco Ultrasonics’ Daniel Dobrowolski accepting the 2025 Wates GFS Sustainable Technology Award.
We are proud to announce that Coltraco Ultrasonics has been named a winner of the 2025 Wates Group Financial Services Sustainable Technology Competition, delivered in partnership with the Sustainable Business Consortium. The winning innovation: our cutting-edge Portascanner® AIRTIGHT.
This prestigious competition is designed to accelerate the decarbonisation of estates across the financial services sector, supporting banks and building societies in meeting their environmental and operational sustainability goals.
Following a rigorous evaluation process that assessed over 100 entries, nine sustainability innovations were selected for pilot implementation at one of five leading UK banks and building societies. Finalists were chosen through a highly competitive green pitch process, in which the Portascanner® AIRTIGHT stood out for its exceptional innovation, transformative potential, and real-world applicability in driving measurable environmental improvements.
Our technology is now being trialled by Lloyds Bank in a collaborative endeavour with other major banks and building societies. Following Lloyds Bank’s use of ‘Quattro Seal’ to address air leakage, Portascanner® AIRTIGHT will be used to verify and ensure the integrity of those seals by testing for airtightness with industry-leading precision.
Capable of detecting air leaks as small as 0.06 mm the Portascanner® AIRTIGHT delivers a level of sensitivity unmatched by any competing system. This allows even the most minor breaches in airtightness to be identified before they develop into costly inefficiencies or risks.
As industries face growing pressure to meet stricter standards for sustainability, safety, and regulatory compliance, Coltraco Ultrasonics is proud to provide advanced technologies that help organisations achieve these goals with confidence and precision.
